Biodata

Dr Kwan Zhenli is a consultant dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon in Subang Jaya and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She is one of the pioneers of Mohs micrographic surgery in Malaysia with experience in over 500 cases of Mohs micrographic surgery and 400 cases of reconstructions.

After qualifying with an MBBS from the University of Malaya in 2008, she worked in Singapore and Australia as a junior doctor. She obtained her Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians, MRCP (UK) in 2010 before returning to Malaysia, where she completed dermatology training in 2016 when she graduated with the Advanced Master in Dermatology from the National University of Malaysia (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia). She also obtained the Specialty Certificate in Dermatology from the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom in the same year.

In 2022, Dr Kwan was awarded a fellowship in Mohs and Advanced Dermatological Surgery from the United Kingdom after spending a year at the prestigious St John’s Institute of Dermatology in London. She has a keen interest in clinical medicine, teaching and research, particularly in the field of psoriasis, cutaneous oncology and Mohs micrographic surgery and she has also participated in various international clinical trials on cutting-edge therapeutics for atopic eczema and psoriasis. Prior to full-time private practice, Dr Kwan had been appointed as an Associate Professor at the University of Malaya and was Head of the Division of Dermatology in UMMC. She also spearheaded the Mohs micrographic surgery service for the treatment of non-melanoma skin cancers.

Dr Kwan is also passionate about medical education, particularly in the field of Dermatology and specifically Dermatological Surgery. She often shares her expertise in various teaching engagements around the country and has presented at national and international conferences as an invited speaker.
